“I am the resurrection and the life” said Jesus. He lived our life and died our death. He rose from the dead so that we may live with him forever. We can face death with hope. In the midst of sorrow and pain, we trust in our Saviour and receive his comfort.
Today we live in a death-denying culture – many people behave as if they will never have to face death. But at St Peter’s we recognise the reality of death, that we have to give an account of our lives to God and that we can entrust ourselves in life and death to God’s everlasting arms.
It is an honour to celebrate every human life and to remember the dead with gratitude to God, our Creator and Redeemer. If you are suffering after the loss of a loved one or are fearful as you face your own death, we’d encourage you to speak to one of our clergy.
If you would like any further information on the above or to arrange a funeral at St. Peter’s please contact Harry or the church office.
